Magento 1.9 uitgekomen
Vandaag is er een nieuwe versie van Magento Community Editie en Enterprise Editie uitgekomen. Voor community betreft het versie 1.9, voor Enterprise 1.14. Hieronder een korte beschrijving vanuit Magento met de belangrijkste wijzigingen.
Key enhancements in the new versions include:
- Responsive design reference theme speeds development. A new responsive design reference theme will cut the time required to develop a responsive site by as much as half, helping merchants participate in the rapidly growing mobile commerce space. The new reference theme encompasses all major flows, product types, and features, and has a cleaner, more modern code base, which makes customizing it easier than ever before. And using the theme offers SEO benefits, as responsive design is Google’s preferred approach to optimizing mobile sites.
- New financing and streamlined checkout improve conversion. The addition of Bill Me Later and an improved PayPal Express Checkout process will help increase sales and conversion rates. Bill Me Later, shown to increase sales by up to 18 percent1, offers instant financing at no additional cost to the merchant. PayPal Express Checkout can be completed in fewer steps and will automatically try alternative payment options when a customer’s credit card is rejected.
- Search indexing update offers better admin performance. Magento Enterprise Edition 1.14 (only) now has native support for Solr 3.6.2 and features indexing improvements that provide shoppers with more up-to-date search results and merchants with more efficient operations and better admin performance. Indexing is performed automatically as the product catalog changes and requires no manual intervention. Please note you will need to follow specific actions to upgrade your Solr instance.
- Price consistency across borders improves the shopping experience. Merchants operating across regions and geographies will have the option of showing their customers a single, clean price, regardless of the tax structures and policies that vary from country to country.
- Compatible with PHP 5.4. Better performance and memory usage are achieved via compatibility with PHP 5.4.
- Improved product quality. More than 50 product enhancements address many customer support issues and improve overall product quality and security.
